This scene is from Mark of Athena.

So... about a month ago, I read Percy Jackson and absolutely fell in love with the story. I actually read all eight books in eight days! A book a day, how crazy is that? But seriously, if you haven't read them yet, please do! You won't be disappointed!

This particular scene is one of my favorites because, while this part is pretty serious (Percy Jackson, Jason Grace and Leo Valdez have been possessed), the next bit with them being un-possessed made me laugh when I read it. I could just see it clearly in my head and so I wanted to turn it into a comic! You'll see what I mean when the next two pages come out.

I've got the lineart for the other two pages done, so it shouldn't take too long to put those up (although I'll be out of town this weekend, so I won't have a chance to work on the next page yet). :( But look forward to it if you like this page!

This is the first finished work I've done on my new computer with my brand new CS6. I was going to color this on my Corel program, but for some reason Corel was having a really difficult time not freezing and spazzing out. The same thing happened with Photoshop at the tail end of making this page. I wonder if my new computer really has the chops to do this or not... hmmm...

Yeah, in general, this is a very nice piece.

You got the profiles of the characters right, and you captured the expressions really well. Piper looks confident, but you can tell she's scared, but the boys look trancelike and dreamy, not quite them.
Piper's face is a little bit misshapen, but it is nothing you can't work on in your next works.
Her nose is a little too big, and she does not exactly live up to the beautiful reputation she has in the books.
I like that you have the boys in different angles, but it looks a little rushed here and there.

So in general, really good! Keep up the fantastic art and I can't wait until the next page!
